MEET JEANNE WALTERS
Tutor, Advocate, and Owner of Blossom, Learn & Grow Tutoring and Advocacy, LLC

Jeanne is a K-8 credentialed teacher. She holds a California Professional Clear Clad K- 8 multiple-subject teaching credential and has a Masters in Teaching. In addition, she is a Certified Barton Reading and Spelling Program Tutor at the Advanced Level and a Certified Dyslexia Advocate through the Dyslexia Training Institute.

She has extensive experience with children. She has four children of her own (ages 26-38), a granddaughter who's nine, a seven-year-old grandson, and a two-year-old grandson. She has pretty much "been there, done that" with her four children. Her youngest child has Asperger's Syndrome, so she is intimately familiar with the challenges Asperger's students face. Jeanne has many years of teaching experience spanning all the grade levels through junior high.

So, why does Jeanne tutor dyslexic children? Almost two years after Jeanne began tutoring, she received a call from a worried, frantic parent whose daughter was recently diagnosed with dyslexia. Wanting to help this parent and her daughter and with a fervent desire to find out all she could about dyslexia, Jeanne researched, studied, trained, and ultimately received her certification in the Barton Reading and Spelling System. Jeanne understands that dyslexic children are grossly under-served in their schools. In wanting to offer support to dyslexic children and their families, Blossom, Learn & Grow Tutoring and Advocacy, LLC began offering proven, research based tutoring to dyslexic children in 2016.

Jeanne's heart grows in leaps and bounds as she watches her struggling dyslexic readers begin to thrive when they are taught with the Barton Reading and Spelling System (in person and online).
